Martin Merry & Reid is a long-standing member of the Toronto Insurance Conference (TIC), a networking and advocacy organization supported by commercial insurance brokers. Through TIC, we try to ensure that laws and regulations—at both the federal and provincial levels—benefit our commercial insurance clients to the greatest extent possible.
We are also a member of the Insurance Specialty Group Inc., which is an association of 14 leading insurance brokers situated throughout Ontario. The Group provides us with greater buying power and a higher level of expertise in meeting our clients' needs.
The health and welfare of our team, our clients and our communities is our highest priority and foremost in our thoughts as we actively monitor and address the COVID-19 pandemic.
Given the unprecedented declared State of Emergency, Martin Merry & Reid is preparing to implement a skeleton staff in the office with the remaining staff working remotely.
We want to assure you that we have business continuity plans and protocols in place to allow us to operate with as little disruption as possible.
In summary:
For ease and speed of communications for any claims, please email claimreport@mmr.ca as it is monitored continuously.
If you do not have your broker’s email address or extension, please email mmreid@mmr.ca as it is monitored continuously.
We can and do operate on your behalf from any location so that we are fully responsive to your insurance needs. We do expect some delays in the issuance of actual paper documents and are moving to send electronic soft copies only.
We have sufficient, robust and tested technology and protocols to support all of our capabilities.
If you have an emergency and cannot reach your broker please call David Browne, President of MMR 416-520-7042.
We are confident that if Canadians adhere to the public health recommendations, government requirements, social distancing and personal hygiene regarding hand washing, we will be successful in our goal to flatten the curve on COVID-19. We are striving to keep everyone healthy and reduce the load and capacity to Ontario’s emergency services, doctors, nurses, and hospitals.
Thank you for your patience and for participating in the protection and recovery of everyone affected.
